Privacy Policy

Anura Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("Anura", "we", "us") builds a practice management platform for legal professionals. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and protect it, and the rights available to you under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDPA") and other applicable law.

This policy applies to our website and the Anura application. It does not govern how our customers (law firms and advocates) handle the data of their own clients within the platform - for that, those firms are the data fiduciaries and their own privacy notices apply.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account data: name, email, phone number, firm/chamber name, role, and login credentials.
• Matter & case data: case details, CNR numbers, documents, notes, and other content you choose to store in the platform.
• Billing data: GSTIN, billing address, and payment details (processed by our payment partners).
• Communications: messages you send to our sales, support, or via forms.

Information we collect automatically

• Usage data: features used, actions taken, device and browser type, and log data.
• Cookies: essential cookies to keep you signed in, plus limited analytics. See "Cookies" below.

2. How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and secure the platform and its agentic features.
• To sync court information (e.g. via CNR) and send you alerts you've requested, including over WhatsApp and email.
• To process billing and issue GST-compliant invoices.
• To provide support and respond to your requests.
• To improve our products and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use the content of your matters to train third-party AI models.

3. Legal basis & consent

We process personal data on the basis of your consent and to perform our contract with you, as well as for legitimate, lawful purposes permitted under the DPDPA. Where consent is required, we obtain it at or before the point of collection, and you may withdraw it at any time (this will not affect processing carried out before withdrawal).

4. Your rights as a data principal

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• access a summary of the personal data we process about you;
• request correction, completion, or updating of your data;
• request erasure of your data where it is no longer required;
• nominate another individual to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity; and
• raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see below).

5. Sharing & subprocessors

We share personal data only with trusted service providers ("subprocessors") who help us run the platform - for example, cloud hosting, communications, and payment processing - under contracts that require them to protect your data. A current list of subprocessors is available on request. We may also disclose information where required by law or valid legal process.

6. Data residency & security

Your data is stored and processed on servers located in India. We apply AES-256 encryption at rest, encryption in transit, multi-factor authentication, access controls, and audit logging. For details, see our Security and Data Residency pages.

7. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and thereafter only as required to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. You may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to those obligations.

8. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the site and keep you signed in, and limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect functionality.

9. Children

Anura is intended for legal professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children except as permitted by law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you.
