Your data stays in India. Anura stores and processes customer data exclusively within Indian data-centre regions, consistent with the expectations of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the preferences of the Indian legal profession.
Data residency applies to your Customer Data - case and matter details, documents, notes, client records, and account information - as well as encrypted backups of that data.
We use a small number of vetted subprocessors to operate the Service. Where any subprocessor function could involve processing outside India (for example, certain global communications or analytics providers), we limit it to non-content metadata and apply contractual and technical safeguards. A current subprocessor list, including function and location, is available on request.
| Function | Example provider | Data location |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud hosting & database | AWS Mumbai / Azure Central India | India |
| Encrypted backups | Same Indian region | India |
| WhatsApp / SMS alerts | Messaging partner | India-first; metadata only |
| Payments & GST invoicing | Indian payment gateway | India |
We do not transfer your Customer Data outside India for primary storage. Should any limited cross-border processing ever be necessary, we will do so only as permitted by applicable law and with appropriate safeguards, and we will update this page accordingly.
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). For the full picture, see our Security page and DPDPA Compliance overview.
